How to get free publicity!
Tuesday 30th September 2008 at 6pm - Van Dyk Hotel, Worksop Road, Clowne, Derbyshire, S43 4TD

How To Get Free Publicity is a workshop for anyone who wants to know how to use the local and regional media to raise their profile and enhance their reputation. The workshop will give you tips in how to use the local and regional media to promote your business and all for free.
We will cover how the media works, how you can use it and how to write a press release, including the chance to have a go at writing one. We will also look at the dos and donts of organising a press event or photo opportunity.
The tips and advice are from someone with insider information. Kate Betts has been a journalist for more than 20 years; working in newspapers, radio, TV and PR. She started her career in Derbyshire, first at the Matlock Mercury and then at the Derbyshire Times. She also later worked for BBC Radio Sheffield, Calendar South, Look North and as a press officer for Derbyshire County Council.
She still works as a freelance reporter for BBC Radio 4 and teaches journalism at the University of Sheffield.
