Surface Gallery is proud to present its annual summer Open Show 20th July – 7th August 2010 and we would like to invite artists from all backgrounds and disciplines to enter work from any medium. This year’s Open Show will be truly OPEN, completely inclusive, as we call out for submissions from painters, sculptors, film makers, performers, designers, photographers, writers, poets. If you have a piece of work that can be construed as Art then we will consider it. Successful applicants' work will be displayed in our spacious city centre gallery space and the winning artist will be invited back for a two week curated solo show in 2011.

Surface Gallery is an independent, volunteer run, contemporary art gallery that has recently moved from Derby Road to Sneinton. It's core interest is to support the professional development of early and mid-career artists, curators and people wishing to work in the arts.

The Gallery is keen to facilitate experimental and innovative work, encouraging artists to explore new avenues in their practice. Occassionally the gallery charges a hire fee for the space

The gallery runs as a cooperative and managed by a committee. Opportunities for volunteers include working with Exhibitions, Press/Marketing, Finance, Fundraising, Education and Management.

Tuesday to Friday 12am - 6pm
Saturday 11am - 5pm during exhibition periods.

During these times, please use the buzzer on the door if you find it is locked.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access to the Gallery.

Entry to the gallery is free.
